About the Organization

The Holdsworth Center is a non-profit organization founded and largely funded by Charles Butt, Chairman of H-E-B, a regional retail company. Our mission is to impact, over time, the quality of K-12 public education for all Texas students by supporting and developing leaders. We are guided by three core values—Be of Service, Believe in People, and Drive for Excellence & Equity. Based in Austin, Texas, our campus and programs are being developed in honor of Charles’ mother, Mary Elizabeth Holdsworth Butt, who was an educator, a philanthropist and a lifelong champion for social justice.  

 

We partner with public school districts over five years to help them grow outstanding leaders at all levels so that staff thrive, and students excel in every classroom. At Holdsworth, we believe leadership isn’t just about titles. We make a deep investment in leaders at both the district and campus levels, including teachers who lead students in the classroom and influence and lead their colleagues.  

 

We are seeking an Executive Assistant who shares a commitment to our mission and whose experience will deepen our capacity to serve leaders and enhance our impact in public school districts across the state of Texas. At Holdsworth, we believe that good work starts with good people, and we value team members that thrive on pushing ideas further through feedback, collaboration, and iteration. Along with working in the capacity of the role, the Executive Assistant will engage alongside Holdsworth staff in leadership development activities and training including but not limited to equity work.   

 

About the Position

  • Assist Vice President and/or other people managers in planning, organizing, implementing, and accomplishing day-to-day operations and goals that relieve and assist the leaders of routine project or advanced administrative duties including development of various collateral (slides decks, reports, etc.)  
  • Build positive, productive professional relationships with all teams at Holdsworth and provide outstanding customer service and support; resolve issues and concerns, managing risks appropriately and escalating where necessary
  • Coordinate meetings including preparation of meeting materials, printing, meeting supplies, or coordination of meal deliveries
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of A/V systems to troubleshoot minor issues for team members 
  • Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including copy machine and computer(s)
  • Book travel arrangements for managers as assigned to include hotel stays, airfare and/or car rentals
  • Assist with development of travel expense reports
  • Assist in managing projects through current systems such as Asana  
  • Cross-train with program coordinator on session responsibilities to be ready to assist during peak times and augment team resources as needed 
  • Work with talented, mission-driven peers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Engage with other Holdsworth staff in professional development sessions including equity conversations


Qualifications:  

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required  
  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university is desired 
  • Five to seven years of relevant work experience in an office environment required  
  • Experience working in a non-profit or education institution a plus 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite  
  • Strong customer service and servant leadership skills  
  • Organized and with a high attention to detail 
  • Displays the ability to be proactive in working to resolve administrative problems by using critical thinking skills  
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Must have the ability to operate with discretion  
  • Excellent at multi-tasking and time management
