About The Holdsworth Center

The Holdsworth Center is an Austin-based non-profit organization founded and largely funded by Charles Butt, Chairman of H-E-B, a regional retail company. Our mission is to impact, over time, the quality of K-12 public education for all Texas students by supporting and developing leaders. We partner with public school districts over five years to help them grow outstanding leaders at all levels so that staff thrive, and students excel in every classroom. At Holdsworth, we believe leadership isn’t just about titles. We make a deep investment in leaders at both the district and campus levels, including teachers who lead students in the classroom and influence and lead their colleagues.

About the position

We are seeking one or more organized and driven individuals to serve as a interns with the Campus Leadership Program (CLP) team. CLP is a two-year journey for Principals and their school teams consisting of 12 multi-day learning sessions which are currently virtual, but may become hybrid or in-person over the summer if conditions allow us to do so safely. We currently serve more than 85 schools and 300 campus leaders across the state of Texas, with additional schools and leaders joining CLP in summer 2021. The interns will assist CLP Program Coordinators with communications, logistics and execution of these large-scale events (learning sessions).

Insights we hope you will acquire in this position:

  • Large scale virtual (and possibly in-person) event planning
  • Using the tool ASANA for managing projects
  • Knowledge of Zoom and other virtual tools such as Mailchimp and Mentimeter
  • Working as part of a team and team meeting dynamics
  • Gaining confidence in giving and receiving feedback
  • Creating and analyzing program survey data
  • Leading with values at the center of decision-making
  • Exposure to world-class personal leadership development content and faculty
  • Understanding the inner workings of the programs department of an educational non-profit


Responsibilities include:

  • Event planning and logistics support for multi-day learning sessions.
  • Preparation and publishing of emails (training provided).
  • Data collection, input and tracking information on spreadsheets.
  • Organization and management of programs storage and supplies.
  • Proof-reading of CLP documents.
  • Production and printing of materials for upcoming events.
  • Ability to work virtually from home with the possibility of in-person work at the Campus on Lake Austin if pandemic conditions permit.

  • Willingness to pitch in and help
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Writing and editing for email communication
  • Comfortable with technology and willingness to learn new systems (Zoom, Asana, and Mailchimp primarily)
